The things people ask before they book.
Mostly not about pottery. The real question is usually whether you are going to embarrass yourself, so that one is answered first.
Before you book
I have never touched clay. Is that a problem?
No, and it is the normal case rather than the exception. Most people in any session have never done it before. Everything is taught from the beginning and nothing is assumed.
I am not artistic. Will I be bad at it?
Wheel throwing is far more physical than artistic. It rewards patience and a steady posture, not drawing ability. Nobody's first pot is good, including the people whose second one is.
Can I come on my own?
Yes, and plenty do. Six seats to a session makes conversation easy without making it compulsory.
How many people are in a session?
Six, with one tutor. The studio has two wheels shared between the group, so on a wheel-throwing session you take turns at them rather than having one each — which is also why the tutor can actually reach everyone.
Can children come?
Yes, to any of the shared sessions. There is no separate children's class and none is needed. An adult has to stay with them. The only sessions children cannot join are couple pottery and photoshoots, which are private bookings for the whole studio.
Can we book the whole studio to ourselves?
Yes. Couple pottery and photoshoots take all six seats, so nobody else is in the room. For a larger group or a team, message us and we will open a session.
For businesses and teamsOn the day
What should I wear?
Something you would not mind marking. Aprons are provided, but clay finds a way. Short nails genuinely help on the wheel, and long hair is easier tied back.
Will the clay ruin my clothes?
It is mud, not paint — wet clay washes out of most fabrics. Aprons are provided and there is a sink. Still, wear the old shirt rather than the good one.
What do I need to bring?
Nothing. Clay, tools, aprons and everything else are provided.
How long is a session, and when do they run?
Two hours. Sessions run Wednesday to Sunday at 11:00, 15:00 and 18:00.
What happens if my pot collapses?
It probably will, at least once, and it is not a failure — it is the part everyone remembers. The clay goes back in the bag and you start again with a better idea of what your hands were doing wrong.
Is it messy?
Yes. Hands do not stay clean and neither do forearms. There is a sink, and it comes off.
The piece you make
Do I take my pot home the same day?
No, and this surprises people more than anything else. Wet clay has to dry slowly or it cracks, then it is fired, glazed, and fired again at a much higher temperature. None of it can be hurried without losing the piece.
So how long until I get it?
Two to four weeks. We message you on WhatsApp when it is ready.
Booking, paying and changing your mind
How do I book?
Pick a date and a session on the workshops page and pay online. Your seat is confirmed the moment the payment goes through, and you get a confirmation message.

Online, by card, UPI or netbanking, through Razorpay. No card details ever reach us or this website.
Can I cancel or move my booking?
Yes, within the notice period. The cancellation and refund terms are written out in full on their own page, and the earlier you tell us, the more likely the seat can go to someone else.
Cancellation and refundsCan I book a session as a gift?
There are no gift vouchers on the site yet. Message us and we will sort something out rather than have you guess a date that suits the other person.

Where is the studio?

The studio is on the first floor. If stairs are difficult, message us before you book and we will tell you exactly what to expect rather than have you find out on the day.
