Studio Madrasi takes on team workshops, gifting, wedding orders and tableware for small restaurants. Everything is made in the studio in Anna Nagar — which is both the appeal and the limit, and we will always tell you which.

Team workshops

An offsite that isn't a meeting room

Bring a team to the wheels. Everyone makes something, nobody is good at it for the first hour, and the usual hierarchy stops applying somewhere around the second. Everything is provided, and no one needs any experience.

Six at a time, so a larger team runs across a day. Weekdays are easiest — the studio is quieter and the whole place can be yours.

Diwali hampers, joining gifts, thank-yous to clients. Handmade stoneware — mugs, small bowls, planters — where every piece is slightly its own rather than another branded object from a catalogue.

Because each piece is thrown and fired individually, no two match exactly. That is the point of them. Order early: firing alone takes two to four weeks.

Weddings and events

Favours worth keeping

Small pieces for guests, or something larger for the table. Couples often come to the studio for a shoot as well, and the pieces made that day can go into the same order.

Bulk work is booked months ahead, not weeks. Talk to us as early as the date is fixed.

Cafes and restaurants

Tableware with a hand in it

Cups, plates and serving pieces for places that would rather not use what everyone else uses. Made here, in stoneware, and glazed to suit the room they will sit in.

Honestly: this is a small studio, not a factory. Handmade pieces vary, breakages take weeks to replace, and very large or fast orders are not something we can do well. Small independent places are where this works.
