What a term gives you that an afternoon cannot

The wheel stops fighting you

Centring is the whole difficulty, and it does not yield in two hours. It yields somewhere around the fourth or fifth time — which is the week most people stop describing themselves as bad at this.

Work carries over

A pot thrown one week is trimmed the next and glazed after that. You follow a piece through every stage instead of handing it over half-finished.

The same people each week

A small group that does not change. Quieter than a workshop, and nobody spends the first twenty minutes being introduced to the clay again.

You are not starting from scratch

No re-explaining the basics every session, so the tutor's time goes on what you are actually stuck on.

When it starts

There is no fixed term date. A group and a schedule get arranged together, around when the studio and the people joining can all make it — so message us with roughly when you are free and which course you are after, and it is worked out from there.

No experience needed, and it is not a problem to join having never touched clay — most people have not. That goes for the children's terms as well as the adult ones; tell us the age when you message and we will say which group suits.
